COSCO SHIPPING Logistics (North America) can trace its lineage back to 1996 when Intermodal Bridge Services Inc. (IBS) was formed to be the general intermodal agency for COSCO Lines and IMC for third-party customers of all sizes. Then, in 1998, Intermodal Bridge Trucking (IBT) was set up as an IBS subsidiary to strengthen the firm’s land transportation network, stretching coast to coast with truck operations set up in the major cities of Wilmington, CA, Chicago, Dallas, Charleston, Savannah, Atlanta, and New Jersey. Our desire to grow beyond a domestic intermodal service provider and become a true global logistics provider led us to a joint venture between COSCO Americas Inc and COSCO Logistics in China in 2007. The resulting entity COSCO Logistics (Americas) Inc. tied together the vast COSCO logistics services in North America and China formulating a global supply chain. Further benefits were realized when parent COSCO recently joined forces with China Shipping, a natural and advantageous integration of equals with common cultures of excellence and service. The resulting entity, COSCO SHIPPING, lends enormous resources and expertise to the logistics challenge and in turn makes CLA a leader in third party logistics and transportation with a network of national and international services, terminals and warehousing locations across North America.
